Frequently Asked Questions

Why are there two prices listed for prints?
You can order either the original solar print or a Giclée copy of the print.

What is a Giclée copy?
A Giclée is a museum quality print using Epson inks on 100% rag printmaking paper. The inks are sprayed on using only Epson UltraChrome Pigmented Inks with a color permanency of 70-100+ years, depending on the display conditions. The paper is100% acid free cotton rag.

What kind of paper are the original solar prints on?
Most of the solar prints are on Japanese paper; some are on Rives printmaking paper. Every print is marked with which type of paper I used.

Why do some of the images look off center?
All prints are actually centered. When I scanned the prints, it caused some of them to appear off center.

How large are the original solar prints?
The size of each solar print is listed when you view the image on this site.

How large are the Giclée copies?
Giclée copies come in two sizes. You can order your copy at either the size of the original solar print, or at 22 by 30 inches.

Why 22 by 30 inches?
I chose this size for my larger Giclée copies because it is a standard frame size.

What if I want a different size?
Giclée copies can be custom made to any size. Contact me for details if you are interested in doing this.

What else should I know?
Rest assured that your print has been produced with the same care and attention to detail that the artist brings to the original and should be handled with the same care.
